Swachh Bharat Mission

Twin sanitation missions launched in 2014 — SBM-Gramin under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (Ministry of Jal Shakti) and SBM-Urban under MoHUA — covering toilet construction, behaviour change, and solid/liquid waste management.

Why UPSC tests this

Tested on ministry assignment (G under Jal Shakti, U under MoHUA), the ODF Plus criteria under SBM 2.0, and the differences between Phase 1 and Phase 2 priorities.
