DoT Introduces "Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI)" to strengthen Cyber Fraud Prevention

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI), an analytical tool integrated into the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP).

FRI classifies mobile numbers by their risk of financial fraud using inputs from various cybercrime reporting and intelligence sources. Its purpose is to provide financial institutions with advance actionable intelligence to proactively prevent cyber fraud.
