The Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme has been extended to all districts of Meghalaya, effective from April 1, 2026.
This significant expansion by the ESIC, North East Zone, aims to provide social security and healthcare benefits to over 1.1 lakh beneficiaries. The scheme, which began in Meghalaya in 1980, will see enhanced service delivery through new infrastructure and a fully digital enrollment process.
