Simplified compliance framework for start-ups and certain data fiduciaries under DPDP Act and Rules

The Ministry of Electronics & IT announced the notification of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and its Rules on November 13, 2025.

These provisions include the establishment of a Digital Data Protection Board and a simplified compliance framework for startups and specific data fiduciaries. The Act also empowers the government to restrict personal data transfers to certain notified jurisdictions.
