Government increases number of Notaries in four States under Notaries (Amendment) Rules, 2025
The Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, notified the Notaries (Amendment) Rules, 2025, on October 17, 2025.
This amendment increases the maximum number of Notaries appointed in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Nagaland. The changes are made under the Notaries Act, 1952, and aim to meet the growing demand for Notary services.
