DGGI Belagavi Zonal Unit Unearths GST Fraud Worth Rs. 21.64 Crore in Metal Scrap Sector

The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) uncovered a significant GST evasion scheme involving fake invoices and fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) worth over ₹21 crore.

The investigation highlighted misuse of ITC and non-compliance with the Reverse Charge Mechanism, leading to an arrest under Section 69 of the CGST Act, 2017.
