The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) took suo motu cognizance of a fire incident on October 6, 2025, at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital, which resulted in eight patient deaths and three critical injuries.

The Commission observed that the incident raised serious human rights violation issues and issued notices to Rajasthan's Chief Secretary and DGP, seeking a detailed report, including compensation for victims.
