NAL SE JAL MISSION

This PIB release details the progress and objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) schemes.

JJM, launched in August 2019 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, aims for universal rural tap water access, reporting significant progress as of August 2025. AMRUT, launched in 2015 and overseen by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, focuses on urban infrastructure like water supply and sewerage, with AMRUT 2.0 expanding these efforts.
