India is launching a new regional initiative, AquaLivelihood, on August 5, 2025, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Led by India and supported by the SAARC Development Fund, this project aims to enhance the livelihoods and nutrition of small-scale fish farmers in SAARC nations through sustainable aquaculture practices. It involves India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka, aligning with India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy and contributing to several SDGs.
