REFORMS IN EMRS OPERATIONS

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs reported on the operational status and reforms within the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) scheme.

It detailed the role of NESTS in managing EMRS, the scheme's origin in Budget 2018-19, and its expansion criteria. As of July 31, 2025, 722 EMRSs are sanctioned nationwide, with 485 functional, offering holistic education and welfare to tribal students.
