PARLIAMENT QUESTION: NISAR-SATELLITE

The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite was successfully launched by GSLV-F16 on July 30, 2025, from Sriharikota.

This joint mission, with a 5-year life, aims to study land, ice deformation, ecosystems, and oceanic regions using L & S-Band microwave imaging. ISRO's expenditure for the satellite's development and launch totals over Rs. 840 Crores.
