Strengthening Arbitration and Mediation Infrastructure in India

The Government of India is bolstering the country's dispute resolution framework through the India International Arbitration Centre Act, 2019, and the Mediation Act, 2023.

The latter establishes the national-level Mediation Council of India to promote institutional mediation. Recent conferences in May and June 2025 highlighted efforts to advance both arbitration and mediation, extending their reach to Tier II and Tier III cities.
