Recognition of Forest Rights for Tribal’s

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs provided an update in Lok Sabha on the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006.

As of May 2025, over 51 lakh claims have been filed, with roughly half resulting in titles distributed and significant rejections/pendencies. The Ministry also highlighted the Supreme Court's directive for reviewing rejected claims and its own instructions for regular monitoring by State Level Monitoring Committees and legal safeguards against eviction under the Act.
