On World Environment Day 2025, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) highlighted its significant role in marine conservation, pollution control, and wildlife protection.

Operating under the Ministry of Defence, the ICG conducted coastal clean-up drives, utilized specialized pollution control vessels, and engaged in operations like NATPOLREX and Operation Olivia to safeguard India's marine environment and endangered species.
