Indian Meteorological Department Forecasts Above-Normal Southwest Monsoon Rainfall for 2025
The IMD, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, forecasts an above-normal Southwest Monsoon for 2025 (106% of LPA).
Regionally, Central and South Peninsular India expect above-normal rainfall, while Northwest India expects normal, and Northeast India anticipates below-normal. The Monsoon Core Zone is also projected to receive above-normal rainfall, benefiting the Kharif season.
