India's Ministry of Ayush and WHO signed an agreement on May 24, 2025, to integrate a Traditional Medicine module into WHO's International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI).

This landmark initiative aims to standardize global recognition for Ayush therapies, facilitating transparent billing, health insurance integration, and enhanced research. India is contributing $3 million to this WHO endeavor.
