REFORMS IN ATHLETE SELECTION

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports implemented new instructions on March 5, 2025, reforming athlete selection for international events.

National Sports Federations (NSFs) are now solely responsible, mandated to publish transparent policies, conduct video-recorded trials, and form specific selection committees. Existing schemes like TOPS and Khelo India continue to provide financial assistance through DBT.
