The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways announced several initiatives from the Union Budget 2025 to boost India's shipbuilding sector.

These measures include revamping the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy, establishing a ₹25,000 crore Maritime Development Fund, and extending BCD tax exemptions for 10 years. The efforts align with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, aiming to strengthen India's global maritime position.
