Over 1.4 Lakh Food Processing Projects Approved Under MoFPI Schemes to Boost Rural Economy

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has approved over 1.4 lakh food processing projects under its Central Sector Schemes (PMKSY, PLISFPI) and Centrally Sponsored Scheme (PMFME).

These initiatives aim to boost rural economies by enhancing infrastructure, reducing post-harvest losses, and developing value-added products. Specific projects include Mega Food Parks and Cold Chain projects, with a focus on regional products like Banana in Kushinagar under Operation Greens and ODOP.
