National Investigation Agency (NIA) Enhancements and Mandate

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), established in 2008, has undergone significant enhancements including the 2019 amendment expanding its jurisdiction internationally.

Its mandate now covers human trafficking, cyber terrorism, and other acts. The agency has also increased its national footprint with more offices, designated special courts, and established advanced data fusion and research centers.
