Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) held its first consultative meeting with State Cooperative Election Authorities today in New Delhi

The newly established Cooperative Election Authority (CEA), notified in March 2024 under the Ministry of Cooperation, held its first consultative meeting.

Formed under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act (2002, amended 2023), the CEA aims to ensure free and fair elections in cooperative bodies. Discussions focused on standardizing election processes, codes of conduct, and expenditure limits, coinciding with 2025 being the International Year of Cooperatives.
