WELFARE OF UNORGANIZED URBAN WORKERS

The government is implementing various schemes for urban unorganised workers, including the National Career Service (NCS) portal for career support.

The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) scheme, launched in 2019, provides a Rs. 3000 monthly pension for unorganised sector workers after age 60. Additionally, India's Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), developed in 2021 and updated in 2023, measures poverty using 12 indicators across health, education, and living standards.
