New technology enables machining of superalloys used in jet engines, nuclear reactors & space vehicles

Researchers at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), operating under the Department of Science and Technology, have developed Laser-Assisted Turning (LAT).

This new hybrid technology enables the efficient machining of superalloys like Inconel 625, which are vital for aerospace, nuclear, and power generation sectors.
