Several Measures taken by the government to strengthen Financial Inclusion; Over 55.90 Crore Jan Dhan Accounts Opened since 2014

The Ministry of Finance highlighted government efforts in financial inclusion, emphasizing the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), launched in August 2014.

PMJDY has led to over 55.90 crore accounts, providing RuPay debit cards and overdraft facilities. The government also relies on RBI's Priority Sector Lending (PSL) to direct credit to underserved sectors like agriculture and MSMEs.
