‘Every Drop Counts’: New PDMC Flexibility to Help States Strengthen Water Conservation and Farmer Income

MONDAY, 20 MAY 2024·Primary source →

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has introduced significant flexibility within the 'Per Drop More Crop' (PDMC) scheme.

This allows States and UTs to undertake more micro-level water storage and conservation projects, such as diggi construction and water harvesting systems, under 'Other Interventions'. The revised guidelines remove previous funding caps (20% or 40%) for these projects, enabling greater local adaptability and aiming to boost water-use efficiency and farmer income.
