Supporting Schemes For Livestock Farmers, Dairy Producers And Fisherman

The Central Government implements various schemes under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying to boost productivity and enhance livelihoods in these sectors.

The National Livestock Mission (NLM), launched in 2021-22, was significantly modified on February 21, 2024. The modification expanded its scope to include breed-upgradation for camels, horses, and donkeys, and initiatives for fodder production from degraded lands. NLM offers a 50% subsidy up to ₹50 lakh for entrepreneurship initiatives in livestock and poultry breeding under its sub-missions.
