Inland Waterways Authority of India’s Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal handed over to PPP operator IRC Natural Resources

The Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal (MMT) in West Bengal, built by IWAI with World Bank assistance, has been handed over to IRC Natural Resources under an EOT PPP model.

Inaugurated by PM Modi in January 2023, it aims to boost inland waterway cargo movement, particularly to North Eastern states and Bangladesh, aligning with the Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) for National Waterway-1.
