OBJECTIVES OF SHRESHTA SCHEME

The SHRESHTA Scheme, administered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, targets the educational upliftment of Scheduled Caste students.

It comprises Mode-I for meritorious students in top private schools via an NTA test, and Mode-II supporting NGOs running various educational projects for SC students. The scheme was revised in 2021-22 to enhance reach in service-deficient SC areas.
