Assertion (A) : Bahar-i 'Azam, a Persian dictionary completed in India in 1739-40, defined Jagir/Jaigir or 'Tuyul' as a tract of land. 'Jagir' or 'Tuyul' was conferred upon 'Umara' and 'Mansabdars' in lieu of monthly salary.
